My Latest Stationery Purchases – #PlannerGirlsCollective

PGC_6Feb

This week, my fellow planner girls and I are talking about our latest stationery purchases! Now, me personally, I have been trying so hard not to add to my ever increasing stash until I use some of it up, and I have been trying to stick to a no spend in order to save up for 2 fantastic events that are coming up – Pamper & Plan and Scot-Con 2017.  However, I am a stationery addict and there was really no way that I was not going to be able to avoid all of the stationery! So, without further ado, here are some of my most recent purchases.

Dear Lizzy Journal

I first saw this Dear Lizzy Journal when the lovely Michelle (UglyBugPlans) did a quick flip through when she picked it up in the sale. I fell in love with it and she was kind enough to go back to Hobbycraft and pick me one up as well, even although she was nearly lynched by a crazy lady for buying up all the journals (but that’s another story)! I love it because it has a prompt for each week and I definitely need a bit of direction, but it still has room for creativity too!

Mini Happy Planners

So, we all know that I am a Happy Planner girl, right? I already have a mini, a classic and a big one. However, I hadn’t started my mini yet because I was in two minds about what to use it for – a work planner or a journal? I did not want to choose wrong, so the only thing to do was to buy another one, right? So I picked up the 2017 ‘Big City Brights’ version to serve as a journal. I also ‘accidentally’ purchased a mini fitness planner too!

Pretty Paperclips

It is no secret that I am a sucker for a shaped paperclip! However, I actually do have an excuse for these little heart shaped clips! I bought these to use as props when I photograph my Valentine’s stock for Scarlet Moon Crafts. I buy my paperclips from The Lovely Desk on Etsy.

Paper Pads

The last thing that I need in my life right now is more paper, but I have been after the Dear Lizzy ‘Documentary’ pad for a very long time. I am talking at least 6 months or more! It has been pretty hard to get here in the UK and call me cheap, but I do not relish the thought of paying £10-15 for a 6×6 pad! However, I recently spotted it on Craftelier for just £3 in their January sale so obviously I had to give in and buy myself one! I have to be honest, I mainly want this pad for the days of the week paper, but the rest are very cute too!

While I was there, I also spotted a really cute Valentine’s themed paper pad and again, even although I really do not need any more paper I was unable to resist the lure of such a bargain! This one is the American Crafts XOXO pad and it was also  £3.

So, those are my latest little stationery purchases. I think that I have done fairly well in restricting myself on my purchases! I’d love to hear what your latest purchases and favourites have been!

Planner Spread Sundays: Happy Halloween

Planner Spread Sundays

Halloween is finally upon us! If you have been around here for any length of time, then you are already going to know that I LOVE Halloween! It is my favourite time of year and I want it to last for as long as possible! I actually get kind of sad when we finally reach Halloween because it feels like the season is coming to an end. However, since Halloween is on a Monday this year I actually have another while week to enjoy in my planner! I tend to accumulate a ton of Halloween stickers, so I have pretty much just pulled all of the kits I had that are orange and black and worked with those! Here is a closer look at the kits that I am going to be using! They come from Handcrafted by Sheree, The Plump Planner and Panda Planning. I’ve spread them out so that you can get a quick look at the sheets.

20161024_090444So, that’s what I had to work with and here comes the finished result! I haven’t added much by way of pen yet since I actually planned and recorded this spread last week while on holiday and I wasn’t sure what I was going to be doing!

Planner Spread Sundays : Suicide Squad

Planner Spread Sundays

It’s time again for Planner Spread Sundays and this time I’ve done things a tiny bit different! It was the Scotland’s Planner Girl’s Meet Up event in Edinburgh this Saturday and I got the train home with Hailey from Plan With Hailey and Danielle of Scribbles n Dribbles. Since we were on the long train, we decided that we would get some planning done. I was considering pulling out my bendy arm and filming us – but my phone was pretty low in battery and we were already getting some looks when we pulled out all the planner goodies.. so I decided not to! So, there is not really an accompanying video this week!

Anyway, I had already decided that this week was going to be (another) Suicide Squad themed week! I did one not to long ago using printables and filmed a plan with me, but this week I am using a kit by The Geeky Planner called ‘Anti-Heroes‘. It is the chibi/pop style of figures and it is super cute!

I got the bare bones of my planning done on the train, but I hadn’t really made up my mind about what sort of stuff I was going to have to do this coming week, so I could only add the basics.

This is a bit of a new style of planning for me – I have been going back to it and adding more over the last two days and it still isn’t completely filled in! I have put in firm appointments and events and such, but I haven’t completed my ‘to do’ section. I think i am going to fill this in on a daily basis this week, because I may find it a little less overwhelming!

I have been taking a lettering class as part of the #Wild30 event at Planners Gone Wild, so I decided to do a little bit of practice in my planner by adding quotes! My quote on the right was a bit of a fail, but I kinda like how my take on The Joker’s tattoo turned out!

O20160926_021700ne thing that I did a little differently this week was my  side bar. I never usually use it too much, but I have kinda filled it this week since there was a bunch of stickers in the kit that fit there!

I added a weekly spend, habit trackers for the remainder of 30 Days of Harry Potter, my Llama lettering classes and finishing work on time which is something that I am perpetually working on this week!

I also added a currently reading sticker!

That is pretty much it for me this week! I’ll be adding in bits on my to do list as I get to them!

Planner Spread Sundays : Black & White

Planner Spread Sundays

This week when I sat down to plan for next week, I didn’t really have anything in particular in mind! I had considered using my Ugly Bug Does Boy Wizard kit to fit in with 30 Days of Harry Potter, but if I am totally honest.. I hadn’t added them to my folder yet and I was too comfy in bed to get up and get them… maybe next week! So, with no plan in my head I just flicked through my folder of stickers and what caught my eye was this ‘Black is Such a Happy Colour’ kit by Panda Planning.

However, I knew that there wasn’t really enough here to complete my entire spread in my Watercolour Happy Planner, so I kept on looking and spotted a partially used kit from Sea Salt & Paper which I believe was a part of a Brimbles Box at some point.

Last of all, I hadn’t been using washi in my Planner for a while now, so i decided to dig out some skinny washi and came up with a matching black and white one. Then I decided on a pop of colour with some red and a little bit of glitter!

20160904_224409

So, that is pretty much the basis of this week’s spread although I did add a couple of stickers here and there from Handcrafted by Sheree, Princess Honey, Ellen Bee Makes and The Geeky Planner.

I am pretty pleased overall at how this turned out. Black and White is a look that I really love and I really like just the little pops of colour that the functional stickers gave to the overall spread – although it bothered me that the spending tracker was not similar in colour, but it was all I had!

20160904_234126

One of the things that I was really excited about this week was that the count down for the Scotland’s Planner Girls’ Edinburgh Planner Meet is getting so close! I am marking the countdown with these cute stickers by Princess Honey.

20160904_234155

The other thing I wanted to point out is just that I have been trying to use up odd stickers recently and one of the things i have left over were training stickers for basketball. Chris moved up to Junior officially, so I had no use for Cadet training and I almost tossed them out. Then I realised that if I snip off the ball and the training part I can stick it together without the cadet part! So I definitely encourage you to adapt stickers that maybe are not working for you!
